El turismo es un sector considerado por la mayoría de los gobiernos locales, territoriales y nacionales, como un segmento de la economía con un importante potencial para el desarrollo económico y social de las comunidades, así que se ha ampliado la oferta de destinos turísticos en todo el planeta, incrementado la competencia en el sector. La calidad es un factor clave de competitividad para el turismo. El libro examina los aspectos que inciden en la percepción de calidad en destinos turísticos, observado como un sistema coordinado de diversos actores tanto públicos como privados. Para este estudio, se realizó una revisión sistemática de literatura, especialmente de trabajos empíricos, sobre aspectos asociados a la gestión de la calidad en destinos turísticos.
